Kicker "Bobsaw" 7" EP

Kicker is a new band from Oakland / Alameda featuring a bunch of old wankers playing punk rock like it used to be played when we were kids. The group is fronted by UK transplant Pete the Roadie, who’s spent the last three decades working his ass off with the likes of Subhumans, Amebix, Neurosis and Voivod. Although this is his first band, he’s been screaming forever… three decades kicking your ass off the stage and screaming at people to get outta the way.

Pete is backed by Toby Bitter on drums (Filth, Submachine, etc), Dave Ed on bass (Neurosis, Jesus Fucking Christ, etc) and Mauz (er me) on guitar.. Dystopia, Medication Time, etc)

This is the 3rd Kicker single released this year. The first two were recently pressed by our friends at Tankcrimes and Inimical records. Bobsaw is our tribute to Joy Division, as well as the bi-annual BOB Fest, held in Bremen Germany, Oakland, CA and Bath England. The B-Side contains the local pub hit, Lager and Chips. EP comes packaged in a silkscreened cover with artwork from Alan Forbes. Limited to 300 pcs, black vinyl only.

Be on the lookout in October 2011 for Kicker’s debut LP coming out on Tankcrimes. These 12 songs were recently tracked at Bart Thurber’s House of Faith in Oakland. Video below shot by Mike Sutfin. Splash photo by Kenneth Thomas.

Ludicra "Hollow Psalms" 2xLP

Out now (Finally!) This record was originally supposed to coincide with Ludicra's "De-Cancellation" Tour last month, but much like the tour itself... things didn't go as planned. 2 days into said tour, Ludicra's lead guitarist John Cobbett found himself in an intolerable amount of pain and was rushed to the hospital in Olympia. Turns out he had been running around with appendicitis that a San Francisco hospital had “somehow” overlooked during his emergency room visit one week earlier! In turn, the band missed a number of shows while John had surgery, and were soon forced to carry on as a 4 piece in order to recoup money lost by show cancellations and impending medical bills. Luckily John has recovered for the time being and was able to meet up with the band on the East Coast to finish the tour. However, he has yet another surgery awaiting him when he gets home, and with no insurance, is about to acquire an enormous amount of debt. Wolves in the Throne Room have set up a donation fund which you can contribute to here. You can also donate thru Profound Lore who have released Ludicra’s brand new CD “The Tenant”, their 4th Full length which comes highly recommended from us!

As for this album…

2xLP mastered at 45rpm. Edition of 500 pcs on Clear vinyl, packaged in a hand bound gatefold booklet with a super thick silkscreened cover printed in-house at Monolith Press. Originally released on CD by Life is Abuse in 2002… finally pressed on vinyl 8 years later. Bout fucking time, but we needed to do it right. Thanks for your patience.

Laudanum "The Coronation" 2xLP

LAUDANUM returns after belting out a thunderous split with STORMCROW and the criminally underrated debut CD, THE APOTHEKER. THE CORONATION is a 40+ minute hellride into a bleak and vast forest of doom and despair, a serenade of blistering guitars, steamrolling distorted bass, vocals tainted with battery acid and a landscape of crushing electronic sine waves. "Corrosive doom nihilism and industrial noise wasteland, ambient texture and punishing sludge from Oakland" - 20 Buck Spin. Founding members Becky and Judd Hawk are now joined with Life is Abuse veteranos Greg Wilkenson (BRAINOIL) and Nathan Misterek (GRAVES AT SEA) to unleash this blackened opus ofOSCILLOSCOPE DOOM. This release is a first pressing of 500 pcs (300 on black vinyl / 200 on clear only available on tour and thru mailorder) packaged in a widespine jacket, along w. lyric sheet and a foldout 3 color silkscreened poster.

Asunder "A Clarion Call' CD

Five long years since their debut EP, Oakland, CA's cult doom act Asunder finally returns with their debut full length, A Clarion Call. A staggering progression from their early days, they deliver a trilogy of epic dirges. Bleak, grand, suffocating, and vast, the seeming contradictions only help serve to enhance the journey and depth of the mantra. Recorded with doomlord Billy Anderson with the expected 'thick and heavy as fuck' sound you can expect! An unusal blend of styles ranging from the classic late 80's/early 90's british scene, a healthy dose of Thergothon/Skepticism and a nod to earlier staples Pentagram / St. Vitus. A Clarion Call is a call back to the old timeless doom that came from those classic founders, while forging onward through the doomed present we will forver be stuck in. Featuring members of Dystopia, Skaven, and Weakling, expect cloudy visions of an epic and dismal new dawn.

Track Listing:
1) Twilight Amaranthine
2) Crown of Eyes
3) A Clarion Call
